Please be advised that on Monday, August 23, 2021, there will be a need to close the main track at 7:30AM. The work will take a major portion of the day for the work to be completed so all horses will have to use the inner track. Work is required on the ditch area in the north – east area of the track to prevent future drainage issues.

Also just want to confirm that on Thursday, August 26, 2021, the gentleman that handles the grading of the track is scheduled to be here to do a grading of the racing surface. We don’t have a specific time but typically he starts work early in the morning. Once again, the inner track will be available with the understanding that there will be an excavator on the main track. Unfortunately, the above work is being done in the same week, but we could not have it done earlier until we had the government assistance allowing us to move forward with racing.

ATTENTION: HRBC MEMBERSHIP

During our latest Board of Director meetings of August 4^th and August 10^th, the  Directors made the decision to not have a Sale Stake attached to the 2021 live sale that was scheduled for the Agriplex on October 26^th.    However, the board decided to replace the stake with an additional bonus incentive that will be for all BC Bred Yearlings. The designing  of this  additional bonus incentive is a work in progress, full details will be announced to the membership upon completion. 

In order to offer our breeders a venue to sell their yearlings, the board thought it was best  to once again go with the well known, virtual auction company OnGait.com to present the HRBC Virtual Yearling Sale. 

To assist our breeders who are wanting to sell their yearlings, HRBC has reduced the sale fee to  $100 plus GST per yearling and 3% commission plus GST at the sale.  If you are reconsidering entering your yearling to the upcoming virtual sale, please submit the newly drafted sale entry application that reads the revised fee and conditions which can be found on the website, www.harnessracingbc.org.  

 Please note that deadline for entries must be submitted to the HRBC office no later than 3 pm on AUGUST 20, 2021. 

Both BC Broodmare and BC Bred bonus cheques are available for pick up as of today, Tuesday, August 10, 2021. These payments represent the 50% outstanding balance owing for these two incentives. We will keep cheques in the HRBC office for the balance of the week for in town members all out of town members will be mailed.
