To all HRBC members:

In order to anticipate the steps needed for racing to resume, the fundamental element needed is funding. Kelly MacMillan, President of HRBC would like the membership to know that discussion with Government regarding funding to support our racing industry continues on a daily basis. As soon as Harness Racing BC receives confirmation on the applied funding, an announced Special General Meeting will be held to discuss the details pertaining to the funds and to discuss the next steps of planning the race meet.

On Friday July 16^th, the barn area policy will be changing regarding Face coverings. They will be optional for the backstretch community that have access. People still need to be respectful of others and practice social distancing as not everyone has the same comfort level with the easing of PHO restrictions. At this time active screening will still be in place but is being reviewed. Everybody’s cooperation with the Face covering mandate is appreciated  and we look forward to more easing of the rules as we move forward.
